I want to let everyone who just voted for Obama yesterday to know that we just made history. Hardcore. This is such a big deal for our country, when not even fifty years ago blacks weren't even allowed to drink from the same damn water fountain as whites. MLK Jr would piss himself if he saw us today.

It was my first time voting, and I'm so damn excited about it. It isn't just that I got to vote, or that the person I voted for won, (although that is a big plus). It was a great reason for me to remember and appreciate the perserverence of woman who fought for their right to vote--MINE and, if you're a girl, YOUR right to vote--and I feel so damn grateful for them. Voting is a privilege, and it's one that we women haven't had for very long.

I hope Obama works out. I think most people who voted for him knew that his presidency would result in something truly great or something truly terrible. I just hope it isn't something terrible: I'd feel very awkward for having voted for him. XD I think we picked a good guy, though.
